Severe flooding has once again disrupted traffic in the Municipality of Drenas, leaving several major roads completely impassable, municipal authorities have confirmed.
The Mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, announced that the situation remains serious, urging citizens not to move without urgent necessity and to respect road closure barriers, as emergency services continue their response on the ground.
Impassable Roads Due to Flooding
According to Mayor Lladrovci, the following roads are currently blocked and unsafe for traffic:
- Drenas – Guri i Plakës
- Drenas – Kroi i Mbretit
- Shtrubullovë – Korroticë e Ulët
- Road from Komoran 1 toward Komoran 3
Meanwhile, traffic on the Komoran–Skenderaj road in the direction of Drenas is moving with great difficulty, with long vehicle queues reported.
Call for Caution and Solidarity
In a public appeal, Mayor Lladrovci called on residents to limit movement, follow official instructions, and show solidarity during the ongoing emergency.
“We ask citizens not to move without reason, to respect roadblock signage, and to help one another wherever possible in overcoming this situation,” the mayor stated.
Emergency Teams Deployed
Emergency response teams, in coordination with the Kosovo Police and the Emergency Management Agency (AME), are currently active in the field, working to mitigate the impact of the flooding and restore safe conditions as soon as possible.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are expected to provide updates as conditions evolve.
