Local media in Mitrovica have published footage showing significant flooding at the construction site of the new bridge over the Iber River, where large quantities of water have caused notable damage.
According to reports from Veriu.info and Jepi Zë, the flooding was allegedly caused intentionally, after someone released the barrier at the Gazivoda (Ujman) Lake dam, leading to a sudden rise in the river’s water level. The water has submerged much of the construction area, sweeping away equipment and building materials.
The incident has raised concerns among local authorities. Construction teams are currently assessing the extent of the damage and preparing to take the next necessary measures.
