Due to heavy rainfall over the past few hours, traffic movement has become difficult on several roads in the Municipality of Malishevë, although the overall situation remains manageable, the municipality has announced.
According to the municipality, the Mirusha River has overflowed in several areas because of the large volume of water.
“In some areas, the Mirusha River has overflowed due to high water inflows. As a result of water on the roads, the following routes are currently difficult or impassable: ‘Hamdi Berisha’ Street in Malishevë, the transit road near the Hoti neighborhood, the Malishevë–Banjë road, the Mirushë–Gurbardh road, the Lubizhdë–Turjakë road, the bridge in Lubizhdë, a bridge in a neighborhood of the village of Damanek, as well as the road to the village of Panorc, where water is present on two segments,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, electricity supply is operating with reductions in some parts of the city, while water supply remains regular. However, the water is currently not suitable for use due to contamination from flooding in recent days.
“Relevant teams are on the ground and are working to address these difficulties,” the municipality stated.
The municipality has urged residents to use alternative routes, avoid the affected roads, and respect the traffic restrictions and signage placed by the Kosovo Police.
