Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will convene the Emergency Committee tomorrow at 08:30, in response to the worsening flood situation across several regions of the country.
According to reports from Albanian media, the meeting will address the current state of flooding, as well as a package of assessments and compensation measures for citizens affected by the floods.
Severe Flooding Across Multiple Regions
Several rivers in Albania overflowed their banks today, causing flooding of residential areas and agricultural land. Authorities report that the most critical situation is in Durrës, Vlorë, and Fier, where the evacuation of several villages has already been ordered as a precautionary measure.
Emergency structures remain on high alert, while local and central institutions are coordinating efforts to ensure public safety and minimize damage.
The government is expected to outline immediate response measures, assess material damages, and define financial support mechanisms for affected families following the Emergency Committee meeting.
