On the occasion of Easter, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, made a special visit to the village of Peshter in the municipality of Brus, where she met with Mother Stanë Gashi and her family, Rks News reports.
During the war in Kosovo, this family served as a safe haven for hundreds of fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Mother Stanë and her relatives not only provided shelter and support to the freedom fighters, but four of her children—three sons and one daughter—also joined the ranks of the KLA.
President Osmani’s message:
“For the Easter holiday, in the spirit of love, respect, and hope, our family visited Mother Stanë Gashi and her family in Peshter of Brus.”
“A few months ago, I had the honor of decorating Mother Stanë with the Presidential Medal ‘Saint Teresa,’ because in the darkest times, she stood as a symbol of resilience, humanity, and love for the homeland. During the war, she and her family opened their hearts and home to hundreds of freedom fighters, while her three sons and daughter joined the Kosovo Liberation Army.”
“A deep bow and utmost respect to this magnificent family, which embodies the pride of the highlands and the unmatched heart of Mother Stanë, the mother of the war for humanity, freedom, and peace.”
Wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed Easter!
