The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, met in Strasbourg with the leader of the Socialist, Democratic and Green Group in the Council of Europe, Frank Schwabe.
In this meeting, Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and the continuation of cooperation in the path of Kosovo’s integration were discussed.
“The full and immediate membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe and the continuation of the excellent cooperation on the path of Kosovo’s integration into international mechanisms were the focus of the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla and the German MP, the leader of the Socialist, Democratic and Green Group, Frank Schwabe. During this meeting, Minister Gërvalla expressed deep gratitude for the personal role of Frank Schwabe in achieving support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, emphasizing that his help was essential for achieving a convincing majority of votes in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.”
Gërvalla has said that it is up to the Council of Ministers to make the decision as soon as possible to implement the recommendation of the AP of KiE and invite Kosovo to join this organization.
“It remains for the Council of Ministers to take a decision as soon as possible on the implementation of the recommendation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and to invite the Republic of Kosovo to join this organization, one of the most important in Europe.”
