Shkëlzen Dragaj, former advisor to Kadri Veseli, has strongly reacted following the Specialist Chambers’ decision to reject the defense motion submitted by the lawyers of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders.

In a sharply worded post, Dragaj accused the court of delivering a biased and arbitrary justice system, claiming it is selectively interpreted “depending on mood and weather, on the back of the KLA.”

“WTF! The panel rejected the defense motion claiming it has no authority. In other words, the panel says, ‘I have the authority to convict you—above the Constitution, laws, and conventions—but not to acquit you of some charges.’ Justice is in free fall, selectively interpreted depending on mood and weather, on the back of the KLA,” Dragaj wrote.

The reaction comes after the defense teams of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi filed a motion requesting the dismissal of all charges related to incidents or crimes allegedly committed before May 1998 and after June 20, 1999.

The defense maintains that the armed conflict in Kosovo only existed within that specific timeframe, contradicting the indictment submitted by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), which covers a broader period—from March 1998 to September 1999.

However, the court rejected the motion earlier today, ruling against the defense’s interpretation of the conflict timeline.
