Former Prime Minister of Albania, Fatos Nano, is reported to be in critical health condition and has been hospitalized in a private clinic in Tirana.
According to medical sources, Nano has been admitted for several days following a cardiorespiratory arrest, and his situation remains severe.
“The patient is currently in very serious condition, with a reserved prognosis,” the hospital confirmed in an official statement.
Family members, friends, and former colleagues of the former prime minister have requested privacy and calm during this difficult time, refraining from making further comments to the media.
Fatos Nano, a key figure in Albania’s post-communist political transition and the founding leader of the Socialist Party, served multiple terms as prime minister between the 1990s and early 2000s.
