“The victory of Ukraine is a priority for all of us. The situation on the battlefield is difficult. And that’s why we must continue working every day, for as long as necessary, with as much military, financial, and humanitarian aid as needed,” said Kaja Kallas, the new EU foreign policy chief.
Dragan Šormaz, a former ally of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, responded to Kallas’ statements, saying that he is eagerly waiting for Vučić to face criticism from the European Union.
“This is right! I can’t wait for them to start dealing with Vučić. His insides will be sweating,” Šormaz said.
Yesterday, Kallas emphasized that Europe must play a key role in defending Ukraine and opposing Russia and China.
During a hearing before the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee on November 12, Kaja Kallas stated that “the victory of Ukraine is a priority for all of us” and pledged that the European Union would continue to support Kyiv for as long as needed.
During the three-hour session, she also noted that China “must bear a higher cost” due to its support of Russia’s war and expressed hope that Brussels could use the nearly 300 billion euros of frozen Russian Central Bank assets in the EU to help Ukraine.
This session took place amid fears in Europe that the new Trump administration may seek a quick resolution to the war in Ukraine with terms more favorable to Russia, and amid concerns that Washington will pay less attention to multilateral institutions like the EU or even NATO.
