Jon Harrison, a former British soldier who served alongside the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) during the war, has officially been granted citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo.

Harrison announced the development through a Facebook post, sharing the official decree signed by President Vjosa Osmani, which confirms his new status.

“I have been declared a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo,” Harrison wrote, expressing pride and gratitude for the recognition.

Harrison is among a small number of foreign volunteers who supported Kosovo during the 1998–1999 war and who have since maintained close ties with the country. His naturalization is widely viewed as an acknowledgment of his contribution and long-standing commitment to Kosovo’s freedom and statehood.
