A former fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army and former officer of the Kosovo Security Force, Fazli Hoxha, has called for political unity and broad support for another presidential mandate for Vjosa Osmani, stressing that Kosovo needs institutional stability at a sensitive moment.
In a post on Facebook, Hoxha said that Kosovo cannot afford to enter a new electoral cycle, noting that only two weeks remain before the election of the country’s president. According to him, institutional stability and political unity should take priority over party interests.
“As a former soldier of the KLA, with later engagement in the Kosovo Protection Corps and the Kosovo Security Force, I strongly believe that the state interest must come before party interests,” Hoxha wrote, urging both the governing coalition and the opposition to back Osmani’s candidacy for another term.
Hoxha argued that during Osmani’s mandate, Kosovo has had dignified representation on the international stage and has strengthened its position with key strategic allies. He highlighted that the relationships built by the president with international partners, including communication with the U.S. president Donald Trump, represent an important asset for the country’s future.
He also emphasized that Osmani’s continued commitment to respecting the values of freedom and the categories that emerged from Kosovo’s struggle remains, in his words, a guarantee of institutional seriousness.
“In times of internal challenges and sensitive geopolitical developments, Kosovo needs continuity, seriousness and stable representation. I believe that Vjosa Osmani can provide this best,” Hoxha stated.
