The protest organized in Skopje in support of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who are currently on trial in The Hague, has begun.
Under the main slogan “Justice for the Liberators,” thousands of supporters from across Albanian-inhabited regions have gathered in Skopje, chanting “KLA” and calling for what they describe as a fair and unbiased judicial process.
Addressing the crowd, former KLA fighter Berat Hajdari called for broad support for former combatants and emphasized that the protest is not directed against justice itself, but against the distortion of historical truth.
“Today we have come together for a cause that deeply touches our hearts, our history, and our identity. Above all, we are united in demanding justice for the liberators. We are not here to oppose the rule of law, but to remind the world that history must not be distorted. The trials must be fair and free of double standards. We seek justice, not revenge,” Hajdari said.
Organizers stressed that the protest is peaceful and aims to convey a message of support for former KLA leaders, calling for equal treatment and respect for the fundamental principles of international justice.
