Serbian judicial authorities have ordered 30 days of pre-trial detention in Belgrade for Mit’hat Llozhani, a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo and former soldier of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who was arrested three days ago by Serbian police.

Relatives of Llozhani confirmed to PortalMagazina.com:

“Today, the 30-day detention was ordered, and he was taken to Belgrade.”

Llozhani was traveling from Germany to Kosovo via Serbia when he was stopped. During the inspection, authorities reportedly found his veteran identification card.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo stated that the Liaison Office in Serbia notified the EU Delegation in Serbia about the case and sent verbal notes to the diplomatic missions of the Quint countries accredited in Serbia, aiming to ensure international engagement for the protection of Llozhani’s rights and safety.
