Former Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Gramos Agusholli, has been released by Serbian authorities after being detained earlier this morning at the Merdare border crossing.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFA), Agusholli has since resumed his journey toward Slovenia.
The MFA expressed serious concern over such detentions of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and called on international institutions to react to actions that, according to the ministry, violate international law and infringe on human rights.
“The MFA will continue to closely monitor any situation that endangers the rights of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” the official statement reads.
The ministry also emphasized that such detentions represent repressive practices that must be stopped.
