Former Serbian MP Dragan Šormaz, a member of President Aleksandar Vučić’s party, has stated that the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should be concluded as soon as possible.

Šormaz emphasized that “it is important to complete this process because the European Union has decided that by 2030, all countries in the region should become members.”

Speaking about the situation in northern Kosovo, he criticized Vučić for his handling of the terrorist attack, which tragically ended with the death of Kosovar police officer Afrim Bunjaku.

He also pointed out that immediately after the attack, a campaign for elections began in Serbia, while the situation in the north was sidelined.

“Vučić has destroyed himself with the operation that tragically ended with four lives lost—the Kosovar police officer and the Serbs. It’s interesting that after this, an extraordinary election campaign starts, and no one talks about Banjska. Meanwhile, license plates are changed, Serbs are getting passports, driver’s licenses, personal documents, and people start paying for electricity. In the north, bank post offices are closed, gas stations are shut down, the dinar is banned—all of this is happening, yet no one in Serbia talks about it,” he stated.

“Our Western friends are not helping Serbia to free itself from Vučić. It is left to Kosovo to establish the Association of Serb-majority municipalities, and the work will be completed when the final agreement for the normalization of relations is approved,” Šormaz declared.
