According to reports, former Special Counsel Jack Smith monitored private communications and phone calls of nearly a dozen Republican senators as part of his investigation into the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots, reports Fox News Digital.

Smith, previously the Chief Prosecutor at the Special Court, known for filing a controversial indictment against former KLA leaders, has been accused of political bias, obtaining evidence from Serbia, and collaborating with infiltrated Serbian witnesses.

A document reviewed by Fox News Digital indicates that Smith and his investigative team, “Arctic Frost,” allegedly monitored calls involving senators including:

  • Lindsey Graham (South Carolina)
  • Marsha Blackburn (Tennessee)
  • Ron Johnson (Wisconsin)
  • Josh Hawley (Missouri)
  • Cynthia Lummis (Wyoming)
  • Bill Hagerty (Tennessee)
  • Dan Sullivan (Alaska)
  • Tommy Tuberville (Alabama)
  • Congressman Mike Kelly (Pennsylvania)

The document, recently released by FBI Director Kash Patel, is dated September 27, 2023, titled “CAST Assistance”. CAST refers to the FBI’s Cellular Analysis Survey Team.

It details that an FBI special agent under Smith’s team conducted preliminary analysis of telephone data linked to the senators, tracking numbers dialed, call origins, and call reception locations.

Sources suggest these calls were likely related to the 2020 election certification vote. The data was collected in 2023 after Smith and his team issued court orders to major telecom companies.

The Arctic Frost operation was initiated on April 13, 2022, and Smith was appointed as Special Counsel to lead the investigation in November 2022.

Fox News Digital reports that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino will inform lawmakers about the wiretapping on Capitol Hill.

Kash Patel stated:

“The American people deserve the truth, and under our leadership, they will get it. Accountability will be ensured for those who have politically weaponized the justice system.”

After months of investigation, Smith filed charges against President Donald Trump related to the 2020 election in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. However, after Trump was reelected, Smith requested the case be dismissed, which was approved by Judge Tanya Chutkan.

The investigation reportedly cost U.S. taxpayers over $50 million, according to Fox News.
