Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Philip Reeker, has condemned the 27th failed attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, calling it a “disgrace,” Gazeta Sinjali reports.

He stated that the people of Kosovo deserve better and emphasized the need for a solution that ensures good governance, rule of law, and strong regional relations to secure progress.

Reeker also addressed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, noting that a viable agreement already exists on the negotiation table but has not been implemented by either side. He stressed that the failure does not lie with the United States, but with Kosovo and Serbia themselves.

“If an agreement is reached, it must be respected. Otherwise—bring new ideas. That’s diplomacy. You cannot rely on others to do everything for you,” Reeker stated, adding that the U.S. will remain involved but has other priorities.
