In a phone call between French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Barrot stated that France supports Pakistan’s efforts toward a diplomatic path for “peace and lasting stability in the region,” according to the BBC.
According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both officials expressed concern over serious violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and emphasized the importance of its full implementation and respect.
This comes shortly before planned peace talks between the United States and Iran expected to take place in Pakistan this weekend, although there is still uncertainty over whether they will proceed as scheduled.
