As the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip worsens daily, France has taken urgent steps to help the Palestinian population facing extreme hunger and a severe lack of basic supplies.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced this Friday that four humanitarian air drops have been carried out, delivering a total of 40 tons of aid to Gaza’s residents. According to him, the situation is critical and requires immediate action.

There’s not a minute to lose,” Barrot told Franceinfo, emphasizing that the aid includes food, water, and medicine, but remains insufficient to meet the massive needs of the people in Gaza.

The French minister stressed that the Gaza Strip must be “flooded with water, food, and medicine” to avert an even deeper humanitarian disaster.

International Airdrop Operation
Airdrops resumed on Sunday after the Israeli army announced a temporary pause in fighting. The first flights came from Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, while the United Kingdom was the first European country to join the emergency operation. Afterwards, Germany, Belgium, and now France joined the joint “air bridge” operating through Jordan.

This international effort aims to ease the crisis hitting civilians in Gaza, amid escalating fighting and the difficulties in guaranteeing safe passage for aid via land corridors.
