France has warned Donald Trump not to threaten the “sovereign borders” of the European Union.
This follows the elected U.S. president’s refusal to rule out military actions to take control of Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, a member state of the EU.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated, “There is no doubt that the EU will not allow other countries in the world, whoever they may be, to attack its sovereign borders.”
He added that while he did not believe the U.S. “would invade” Greenland, “we have entered an era where we are witnessing the return of the law of the strongest.”
