A major breakthrough was reached in Paris on Thursday as the Alliance of the Willing finalized a framework for security guarantees to support Ukraine in its war against Russia.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that 26 countries have committed to deploying troops or military support to Ukraine as part of these guarantees.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that leaders agreed on a comprehensive security plan, which includes cyber defense, air defense, and concrete steps in various sectors.

“Our message remains that Ukraine stands for peace, while Russia must be labeled the aggressor,” Macron stated, accusing Moscow of deliberately stalling peace efforts to continue its assaults.

Macron highlighted that commitments now involve 35 countries, ensuring both military and political backing for Kyiv. He stressed that there should be “no limits” on Ukraine’s defense, underscoring the urgent need to rebuild and strengthen the Ukrainian army.

The French President revealed that many nations are prepared to contribute on land, sea, and air to help enforce and maintain a ceasefire once agreed, securing long-term peace.

Macron also confirmed a joint discussion with U.S. President Donald Trump, who participated via phone call. Trump urged Europe to stop purchasing Russian oil and increase pressure on China for its role in financing Moscow’s war efforts.

From Kyiv, Zelensky emphasized that a strong Ukrainian army remains the cornerstone of security guarantees, while also warning that European weapons production lines are underperforming, calling for urgent investment to reach full capacity.
