Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke about his government’s performance so far, as well as future economic, political, and geostrategic plans, during a conversation with Rory Stewart OBE at the “Kosovo House” as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

From Davos, Kurti emphasized the improvement of service quality, transparency in decision-making processes, and accountability as core goals of his governance, stating that there is strong resistance among citizens to returning to a corrupt political system.

“We must lead by example. Not a single member of the government cabinet can have even the slightest imagination of working in a corrupt manner. Kosovo is a state monitored both by international partners and by our own system. I believe accountability will be at the highest level,” he said.

The acting prime minister stated that his government’s leadership policies have primarily focused on social policies, capital investments, and economic development.

Kurti also addressed the months-long political blockade in Kosovo, which led to early parliamentary elections and resulted in 51% of the vote for the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), reports RTK.

He further spoke about destabilizing plans by Serbia and Russia against Kosovo, specifically highlighting Russian hybrid warfare during the most recent election campaign. Kurti stressed that the best response to any state-led or hybrid attack is having the most professional personnel within the Intelligence Agency, ensuring that responses are effective and proportionate.
