The Albanian Maritime Police and Border Police continue to intensively monitor maritime, lake, and river areas to ensure the safety of vacationers and watercraft users.

Over the past week, 321 watercraft were inspected along the route from Komani to Ksamil, of which 20 were blocked due to various violations.

Among the blocked vessels were 11 jet skis, 5 speedboats, 3 inflatable boats, and 1 metal motorboat. Eight of these vessels were operating within restricted safety perimeters, endangering the lives of vacationers. Their operators were fined 100,000 lek each, according to A2 CNN.

Thanks to the intervention of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit, 38 people—both Albanian and foreign nationals—were rescued, and 17 watercraft were secured.

Authorities urge the public to respect watercraft regulations, navigate only in authorized areas, use necessary safety equipment, and avoid activities during unfavorable weather conditions.
