For the second consecutive day, hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza have taken to the streets to protest against Hamas and express their frustration over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
Rare Anti-Hamas Demonstrations
Protests erupted across Gaza in cities such as Beit Lahia, Gaza City (north), and Khan Younis (south), with demonstrators demanding an end to the war with Israel and denouncing Hamas’ governance.
According to reports from AFP and AP, protesters chanted slogans like “The people want Hamas to fall” and “Hamas does not represent us.”
Hamas’ Response
Unlike previous instances where Hamas used force to suppress dissent, the group has largely refrained from interfering in the recent protests.
The demonstrations come as Israel resumes its military operations in Gaza, following the collapse of a nearly two-month ceasefire.
