General Jashari at Ramstein: Kosovo Reaffirms Support for Ukraine

The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, participated in the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which took place today at the U.S. Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. This meeting was organized at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin.

The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary Austin and Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, also attended to highlight the importance of this coalition and to present Ukraine’s requests for 2025. In his address, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the coalition countries for their continued support through this forum.

During his visit, General Jashari held a special meeting with General Christopher Cavoli, Commander of U.S. European Command, where they discussed the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in maintaining Euro-Atlantic peace and security.

“Kosovo continues to support Ukraine through the training of Ukrainian combat forces, in the field of demining, and has made numerous donations of equipment, vehicles, and large-caliber ammunition,” reads the KSF announcement.

The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is an international forum that includes over 50 countries, coordinating support for Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian aggression. This meeting reaffirms Kosovo’s commitment as part of the coalition supporting security and stability.
