Serbia is bracing for a general strike today, March 7, as various sectors, including media, healthcare, education, and the judiciary, join forces to protest against government policies. This follows a similar action in January, where businesses, small firms, and restaurants participated. The strike, largely organized by students, has seen support from media outlets like Nova.rs, Danas, Radar, and Sportklub, alongside other organizations including United Media, Vidik Srbije, and Lice ulice.

In addition, SBB, Beta Agency, and the Belgrade Bar Association have announced their participation, as well as musicians from the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, the Belgrade Philharmonic, and other cultural institutions. Legal workers, including judges, prosecutors, and court officials, will halt their work for one hour, while the National Library in Belgrade and bookstores like Laguna and Delfi have called for a boycott of purchases.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic made controversial comments after a meeting with Milorad Dodik, discussing the political unrest. Vucic declared, “The color revolution is over,” and further remarked that the only way an “colored revolution” could succeed is if he were killed. These statements have sparked further debate about the growing political tensions in the country.
