German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, participated in a hiking expedition along the border area between Kosovo and Serbia in Leposaviq, joining a local hiking group to explore the region’s natural beauty.
In a statement shared by the German Embassy in Prishtina, it was noted that despite initial rainy weather, the group remained undeterred, embracing the experience and learning about the rich biodiversity of the area.
“Although the weather didn’t make it easy at first, the sun eventually joined us, leading to some wonderful conversations! We learned about the region’s vibrant flora and fauna with wildflowers blooming at every step, and even a friendly encounter between the Ambassador and a salamander,” the embassy noted.
The symbolic hike reflects Germany’s continued engagement and presence in northern Kosovo, amid ongoing political sensitivities in the area.
