The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has reacted to the attacks by Serbian authorities on activists in Belgrade, stating that these attacks and defamatory campaigns are extending beyond the border.

Citing the European Union’s chief observer for elections in Kosovo, Nathalie Loiseau, Rohde said that Serbia interfered in Kosovo’s elections through the Serbian List.

“These attacks and campaigns are spreading beyond the Serbian border. As emphasized by the head of the EU Election Observation Mission, Nathalie Loiseau, Serbia interfered in the elections in Kosovo by seeking votes for the Serbian List. At the same time, Serbia baselessly accuses Kosovo of supporting protests in Serbia, without any evidence,” he wrote on the platform “Bluesky.”

The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the situation in Serbia remains concerning, highlighting that the country is a candidate for EU membership and “we expect it to support the rule of law and human rights.”
