German and Latvian soldiers assigned to the NATO-led KFOR mission recently conducted a joint patrol in northern Kosovo, according to a statement released by KFOR.

This operation is part of KFOR’s daily mission to enhance security and support communities throughout Kosovo.

The full statement reads:
“German and Latvian soldiers assigned to the Regional Command East of the #KFOR mission, led by #NATO, conducted a joint patrol in northern Kosovo. Joint patrolling enables the forces of the two nations to work together to enhance security across Kosovo. These efforts are part of KFOR’s daily mission to support all communities within Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on the 1999 UN Security Council Resolution 1244—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities in Kosovo and ensure freedom of movement at all times and impartially.

KFOR operates in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX).”

The joint patrol underscores the ongoing commitment of NATO and its member nations to maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo while supporting the development of security structures in the region.
