The Deputy Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Christian Boettcher, has criticized Kosovo’s political class and emphasized the importance of respecting the Constitution as well as the responsibility of political representatives to ensure the normal functioning of the state.

He underlined the need for parliament to establish a stable government, warning that any delay could negatively affect investor interest and the well-being of citizens.

Boettcher stressed that it is the responsibility of political parties and members of parliament to meet the expectations of citizens and to constitute the Assembly in accordance with the Constitution.

“I would like to say something critical about politics here. It is the responsibility of political parties and members of parliament to meet the expectations of citizens. It is their responsibility to constitute the Assembly in line with the Constitution and to form and elect a government to lead the country. And if the Assembly concludes that the best way forward is early elections, then let it be so,” he stated.

He warned that any delay in forming the government and advancing the energy transition risks undermining investor interest and causes direct economic losses.

“Every day of delay in forming the government and in advancing the energy transition, Kosovo risks losing the interest of investors. And this means real losses in money, jobs, and future prosperity,” Boettcher added.

These remarks were made during the two-day Kosovo Energy Forum and Green Business Expo 2025, events aimed at providing a platform for discussions on energy transition, the liberalization of the energy market, and the challenges of attracting investments in clean energy and sustainable businesses.
