Today, a ceremony was held at KFOR headquarters in “Film City” camp, Pristina, to mark the Transfer of Authority of the German KFOR Contingent.
Colonel Christian Gerber, the outgoing commander, officially handed over leadership to Colonel Jörg Reichstein, the new commander of the contingent.
Lieutenant General Bernd Schütt, Commander of the Operational Command of the German Armed Forces, praised Colonel Gerber for his leadership and service and extended his congratulations to Colonel Reichstein, wishing him success in his new role.
KFOR continues to carry out its mandate in Kosovo, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, contributing to the security and freedom of movement for all citizens and communities. This is achieved in coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, as stated in NATO’s announcement on Facebook.
