German KFOR soldiers from the Eastern Regional Command recently conducted a specialized training aimed at improving their ability to detect, track, and neutralize drones—an increasingly critical skill in today’s security environment.
According to a KFOR statement, the training focused particularly on the WINGMAN system for drone identification and operator tracking, and the HP-47 system for capturing and deactivating UAVs.
“Such training enhances individual technical capabilities while emphasizing the importance of coordination, teamwork, and adaptability in responding to evolving aerial threats. This unique expertise expands KFOR’s operational scope, increasing its capacity to address growing security challenges,” the statement said.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999)—to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement at all times, impartially.
