“The failure of the [German] government to admit Kosovo to the Council of Europe today after the approval of over 80 percent in the Parliamentary Assembly is a serious mistake. Kosovo fulfills the obligations defined by the Parliamentary Assembly. The Council of Europe must not allow itself to be dictated by Donald Trump and Richard Grenell. The Committee of Government Ministers owes the Parliamentary Assembly an explanation and a proposal for a timeline and a way forward,” he wrote in X.

He said that the issue will be discussed in Vilnius next week.

“We will discuss the next steps at the Standing Committee in Vilnius next week. Thank you to those who have taken bold steps and believe in the power of the Council of Europe. The future is with those who are brave.”
