Johann Wadephul stated that it is crucial for NATO members to develop a “common position” with the United States regarding Iran.

Speaking ahead of planned talks with Marco Rubio during a G7 foreign ministers’ meeting near Paris, Wadephul noted that United Kingdom and France share his position, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has continued to criticize NATO allies for their reluctance to engage in the conflict, while also suggesting that the U.S. does not necessarily need their involvement.

Earlier, Kaja Kallas accused Russia of supporting Iran by providing intelligence to “target and kill Americans” and supplying drones in the Middle East, according to AFP.

She added that the Russia–Ukraine War and the ongoing tensions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran are closely interconnected, emphasizing that if the U.S. wants to de-escalate conflict in the Middle East, it must also increase pressure on Russia.
