Germany has announced plans to deliver new Patriot air defense batteries to Ukraine within the next two to three months, including additional launchers, as part of a coordinated agreement with the United States. The news was confirmed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

“This commitment from the American side is in place… Therefore, Germany can initially support Ukraine with launchers and later with additional Patriot system components,” Pistorius stated.

He emphasized that this initiative reaffirms Germany’s role as the leading supporter of Ukraine in the field of air defense.

The decision comes at a time when Russian aerial attacks have intensified, prompting Ukraine to seek more advanced air defense systems like the Patriot, which have proven effective in intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has reorganized its weapons delivery strategy, prioritizing Patriot systems for Germany, which will then transfer them to Ukraine.
