Germany has warned that “time is running out” for Russia to give a positive response by the end of Monday to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. It further stated that if Moscow does not accept this demand, it will face the prospect of new sanctions.
According to AFP, German authorities announced that should Russia reject the ceasefire, “preparations will be set in motion” for additional sanction measures.
This ultimatum follows European leaders’ visit to Kyiv over the weekend, where they forcefully called on Russia to agree to the ceasefire a demand that has sparked widespread international reactions.
