German soldiers aged 17 to 45 must obtain permission from the Bundeswehr if they plan to stay خارج Germany for more than three months.

This rule is part of the Military Service Modernization Act and aims to expand oversight of military service and defense readiness.

A recent amendment has made the requirement applicable even outside situations of tension or defense, reinstating a travel authorization obligation that had previously been suspended.

Violations of this law can carry serious consequences, while many affected individuals may not yet be aware of the change.
