The German Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Ursula Nonnemacher, will visit Kosovo to learn about the recruitment of new nursing staff from abroad, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports, Gazeta Express reports.
A spokesman for the ministry said on Monday that she will fly to Kosovo on Wednesday and then receive information about the “National Matching Brandenburg” model project.
The project, which started in 2016, aims to place refugees and migrants with health professions as specialists in hospitals and care facilities.
The focus is on “active recruitment of young people from Kosovo, who should be given career and life prospects in Brandenburg through training as nursing specialists,” the ministry said last year.
The project is financed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health with about 230,000 euros per year.
