Albania’s Foreign Minister, Elisa Spiropali, speaking in Belfast, United Kingdom, during the central session of the Berlin Process Ministerial, said that the Western Balkans is not a burden on Europe’s shoulders, but “an untapped power waiting to awaken.”
She stated that her country is living proof that true change cannot be imposed from the outside – “it is born from within, when there is vision, when reforms are bold, and when trust becomes the pillar of every transformation.”
Spiropali further emphasized that regional reconciliation for Albania is not only a political choice but a moral duty and a strategy for peace and progress.
“For Albania, regional reconciliation is not merely a political decision, but a moral obligation and a strategy for peace and advancement. Because true reconciliation is not written on paper – it is built in hearts. It requires courage to face the shadows of the past, compassion to honor the memory of victims, and above all, vision to build a future where differences do not provoke fear, but inspire progress,” Spiropali said.
From Kosovo, acting Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla participated in the meeting, while Serbia was represented by Foreign Minister Marko Gjuriq.
