Gërvalla Announces Public Consultation on Five Key Justice Reform Draft Laws

The Minister of Justice of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, has announced that five key draft laws under the justice reform framework are now open for public consultation. She invites professionals, researchers, judges, prosecutors, civil society representatives, and citizens to submit their comments within 15 working days to enhance accountability and strengthen Kosovo’s justice system.

The draft laws available for review are:

  1. Draft Law on the Recruitment, Performance Evaluation, Integrity Control, and Status of Judges and Prosecutors
  2. Draft Law on the Disciplinary Responsibility of Judges and Prosecutors
  3. Draft Law Amending the Law on the Academy of Justice
  4. Draft Law Amending the Law on the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council
  5. Draft Law Amending the Law on the Kosovo Judicial Council

Minister Gërvalla emphasized that these laws aim to increase accountability, improve the evaluation and oversight of justice professionals, and strengthen institutions such as the Academy of Justice, the Prosecutorial Council, and the Judicial Council.

“A lawful, fair, and equal state is built, strengthened, and protected by all of us together,” stated Minister Gërvalla.

All comments and proposals submitted within the deadline will be carefully considered by the working group for the final consolidation of the draft laws.
