Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, announced that the country’s justice reform package is approaching its final stage of institutional approval following a meeting with representatives of Kosovo’s key justice institutions.

According to Gërvalla, the meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, and the Justice Academy to discuss the final issues concerning five draft laws that form part of the Joint Declaration of Commitment on Justice Reform.

In a statement, Gërvalla emphasized that participants reviewed and harmonized the provisions of the draft legislation to ensure compliance with constitutional standards and international best practices.

“Justice reform is not merely a process of legal amendments. It is a national necessity for building a justice system that tolerates no compromise on integrity, places accountability at its core, and restores citizens’ trust in the institutions of justice.”

She added that the government remains committed to advancing reforms through inter-institutional dialogue and close cooperation with all stakeholders in order to strengthen the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo.
