Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla held a meeting with the Croatian Ambassador to Kosovo, Danijela Barišić, focusing on deepening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in the field of justice.

Gërvalla highlighted that Kosovo and Croatia enjoy excellent bilateral relations, describing Croatia as an important partner and friendly state. The discussion centered on advancing cooperation in justice, particularly in the area of extradition.

She emphasized the importance of effective legal cooperation and the need for a more robust framework for extradition, describing it as a key component of a functional judicial partnership.

The issue of war crimes was also raised as a sensitive and unresolved matter for both countries. Gërvalla stressed that addressing these crimes requires strong institutional commitment, clear policies, and a serious, coordinated approach.

“Dealing with such issues requires strong institutions and sustainable decision-making based on the rule of law. Without deep judicial reform, there can be neither credible rule of law nor a strong and functional state,” she stated.
