The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, has met the new Director for Europe at the US National Security Council, Ambassador Michael Carpenter.
Gërvalla and Carpenter spoke about the global and regional security challenges and the need for close cooperation between Kosovo and the USA to face and overcome them.
“During the meeting held as part of her official visit to Washington, Minister Gërvalla informed Ambassador Carpenter about the progress made during these three years, especially in the democratization of the country, the rule of law, respect for the rights of non-majority communities, these areas in which the Republic of Kosovo is a leader in the Western Balkans”.
“She further emphasized Kosovo’s determination for the rule of law, justice, economic development, but at the same time peace and stability in the region”, says the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, it is known that during this meeting the strong friendship between Kosovo and the USA was re-emphasized, which, according to Gërvalla, continues to be an important pillar of security and development in the region.
