Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, reacted to recent statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, emphasizing that to understand Russia’s intentions in the region, one must closely observe Serbia’s actions.

According to her, Serbia does not have a foreign policy independent of Moscow. Gërvalla-Schwarz recalled that just a day earlier, the Serbian president proclaimed that the world order is dead and announced a doubling of the army, describing this message as clear and directed both toward Russia and from Russia.

She stressed that Serbia is not being threatened by anyone; the real threat lies in its own leadership. Instead of building a normal European state focused on reforms and the democratic values of the European Union, the Serbian leadership continues to dream of a regional empire, reflecting, as she put it, a “miniature Russian mindset.”

Finally, Gërvalla-Schwarz warned that it would not be the first time Serbia contributes to the destabilization of Europe.
