Acting Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla has traveled to Istanbul to participate in the second session of the Balkan Peace Platform, at the invitation of Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MPJD) announced on Thursday.

The Balkan Peace Platform brings together foreign ministers from Western Balkan countries to exchange views on shared priorities, including opportunities for regional cooperation across multiple sectors.

In a statement, the MPJD highlighted Kosovo’s strategic commitment to EU and NATO membership, emphasizing the country’s dedication to promoting sustainable peace, good-neighborly relations, and regional stability.

“The participation of Kosovo in this platform reaffirms our strategic priorities and commitment to advancing peace and stability in the region. We value the excellent partnership with Turkey and recognize its significant role in promoting dialogue and strengthening security at both regional and global levels,” the statement said.

The Kosovo delegation will use this platform to engage with Western Balkan counterparts, share perspectives on key regional issues, and identify avenues for deeper collaboration and integration.

This initiative aligns with Kosovo’s broader foreign policy objectives of fostering stability, dialogue, and cooperation in the Balkans while strengthening ties with strategic international partners.
