The trial of Jelena Gjukanović, accused of espionage, is set to continue tomorrow at the Basic Court of Pristina, with the hearing scheduled to begin at 09:00.
Gjukanović, a Serbian national and former employee of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, was arrested on February 28, 2025, at the Jarinje border crossing in northern Kosovo. She has remained in pre-trial detention since her arrest.
According to the charges, she is suspected of engaging in espionage activities in cooperation with another individual who is also under investigation. Authorities allege links to the Security Information Agency.
Under Kosovo’s Criminal Code, espionage is classified as a serious offense and carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison if proven guilty.
