Prime Minister-designate Glauk Konjufca cast his vote today in the second round of local elections in Prishtina. After voting, he spoke about the prospects of forming a new government and his own chances of becoming Prime Minister.

Konjufca emphasized that the decision on whether Kosovo will have a new government or head to early elections is ultimately in the hands of opposition parties.

“I don’t know exactly, in terms of probability or percentage, what my chances are to become Prime Minister. But I believe Kosovo will have a government. Ultimately, it does not depend entirely on Lëvizja Vetëvendosje. This time, the decision on whether we have a new government or go to elections is completely in the hands of the parties we call the opposition. Our role is to propose the second government, the second mandate. In this case, I was proposed. Prime Minister Kurti nominated me, and the President mandated me. My cabinet and I, as the candidate for Prime Minister, will appear in session once we set the exact day. After that, whether I will be voted in depends mostly on the deputies of the other parties. As you know, until now, the majority has not had more than 56 or 57 seats,” Konjufca said.
