The Government of Kosovo has approved a draft decision to request President Vjosa Osmani to grant authorization to Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla to sign the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti presented this item at today’s government meeting.
“In the spirit of deepening bilateral relations in the field of justice, today we present for approval the proposal from the Ministry of Justice for the Government of Kosovo to recommend to the President the granting of authorization to the Minister of Justice to sign the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gërvalla stated that this agreement would intensify legal cooperation in criminal matters.
“In service of strengthening international legal cooperation in criminal matters, we have initiated the conclusion of the agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. We have conducted negotiations with the Ministry of Justice of Belgium and have reached agreement on the text of the agreement. The goal is to establish a bilateral legal basis,” she said.
