Government spokesperson Përparim Kryeziu has reacted regarding the issue of unpaid salaries at RTK. In his statement, he made several claims that do not align with reality, and the tone of his address has sparked reactions, as it has been interpreted by some as derogatory toward the journalists of the public broadcaster.
He insists that there is no legal way to allocate the funds so that 700 workers can receive the salaries they work for, speaking vaguely about “following the proper legal procedure.” However, Kryeziu seems unaware that when an action does not violate anyone’s rights, it cannot be appealed or contested and is therefore lawful. Furthermore, there is precedent in Kosovo where, in a similar situation, a solution was found—because the damage caused by not allocating the funds is far greater than the pretext of following a “regular legal procedure.” Serious states have hundreds of thousands of such cases and resolve them precisely based on these legal principles.
Kryeziu also insists that the opposition is refusing to vote on the constitution of the Assembly, even though, with the Constitutional Court’s decision the highest institution in the country it is now clear that Mr. Dehari has not provided legal and constitutional conditions for a vote, since by violating the Constitution, he changed the agenda, contrary to the agreement reached between political parties in the April meeting with former Speaker Konjufca.
