The headquarters of the Pokret slobodnih građana (PSG) in Belgrade were vandalized after graffiti was sprayed on the entrance and the movement’s nameplate was destroyed, the organization announced on Monday.

According to PSG, the message written on the door read: “The only genocide in the Balkans was against Serbs.” The movement said the act goes beyond vandalism and represents an attempt at political intimidation and a dangerous manipulation of history aimed at fueling social hatred.

In a statement, PSG stressed that in a democratic society political differences should be resolved through arguments, public debate, and elections—not through graffiti, threats, or the destruction of property.

The organization warned that such actions contribute to an atmosphere of intolerance and violence and represent a direct attack on political pluralism in Serbia.

PSG called on the authorities to urgently identify and prosecute those responsible, stating that violence and political intimidation should have no place in the country.

Despite the incident, the movement said it will not be silenced by attempts at intimidation. It reiterated its commitment to advocating for a society based on facts, accountability, and a culture of dialogue, where political opponents are engaged through civilized and reasoned debate rather than targeted attacks.
